Nurture

At Halwin School, Nurture is at the heart of everything we do and underpins our commitment to ensuring every child feels a strong sense of belonging within our school community.

Guided by the Six Principles of Nurture, we recognise that children develop at different rates, that behaviour communicates need, and that secure, trusting relationships are fundamental to both wellbeing and academic success.

Our classrooms provide a safe and consistent base where children are listened to, supported through change, and encouraged to express their feelings. By proactively removing barriers to learning and supporting children’s emotional development, resilience and self-regulation, we ensure pupils are ready to learn, attend well and participate fully in school life.

Through this whole-school nurturing approach, we promote positive behaviour, high expectations and the personal development of every child so that all can flourish.
