Welcome to Halwin School

A very warm welcome to Halwin Primary School, part of the Crofty Education Trust. We are situated in the village of Porkellis, north east of Helston, in the heart of the old Wendron Mining District.

My name is Mrs Alexandra Carr and I am the Headteacher. As a small rural school, we pride ourselves on our kind and caring atmosphere and our close partnership with parents and the local community. We make the most of our location and outdoor space for children to play, explore and learn.

Our CARE values: Confidence, Aspiration, Resilience and Enjoyment, underpin everything that we do, ensuring our children develop a love of learning to reach their full potential.

We firmly believe that every child deserves to have a happy and fulfilling primary education.  Together, we will strive to make learning enjoyable, varied and challenging so that all children achieve well and are motivated to do their very best. We believe a close working relationship between teachers and parents is essential to success and we look forward to welcoming you to our many special events.
